About me

Artist. Explorer. Observer of the seen and the unseen.

Inspired by nature and guided by emotion, Ana Leonor Pita transforms the invisible into visual poetry.

With her work, Ana Leonor Pita explores the space between the visible and the invisible. Using materials such as clay, ceramics, paper, fabric, and sometimes wood, she transforms inner experiences into tangible forms β€” shaping emotions, memories, and perceptions into visual compositions. Her practice is driven by an ongoing search for ways to express what cannot easily be articulated, translating subtle, often intangible states into physical presence. Born in Galicia, Spain, she later moved to Switzerland, where she studied art in Basel and Florence. Her artistic development has been shaped by a range of environments and disciplines, allowing her to develop a visual language that is both intuitive and deeply rooted in material exploration. Her engagement with Chinese medicine further expanded her perspective, strengthening her sensitivity to natural processes and the invisible forces that influence perception and experience. Her work moves fluidly between structure and openness, between control and surrender. Rather than offering fixed meanings, it invites the viewer into a personal dialogue β€” a space where associations can emerge freely and interpretations remain open. Layers of material, repetition, and rhythm often reflect the way thoughts and emotions evolve over time. In this way, her practice becomes not only a process of creation, but also of discovery β€” an attempt to make the invisible perceptible and to create moments of stillness, reflection, and quiet awareness.
